ST. LOUIS (AP) — Police in St. Louis say a dispute over fireworks led to the shooting of an 11-year-old boy.
A 56-year-old man is in custody following the shooting late Thursday night.
The boy was wounded in the leg and taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Police say the man confronted three boys.
He says they were riding through the Botanical Heights neighborhood setting off fireworks. An argument broke out, and police say the man pulled out a gun and fired several shots toward the boys. The boys were riding away when the 11-year-old felt a pain in his thigh and fell to the ground.
No names have been released. Police say the boy is not cooperating with the investigation.
