The American Family Association is a step closer to removing the statue of a partially nude woman from a public park in Overland Park. Phillip Cosby, Missouri and Kansas director of the organization, says he has about three quarters of the 45-hundred signatures needed to call a grand jury. The panel would investigate whether the presence of the statue at the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens promotes obscenity to a minor. Cosby says he hopes to finish gathering signatures next week.
