City Deer Hunting Considered In Branson

BRANSON, Mo. (AP) — Branson police chief Kurt Crutcher says the city ought to allow bow hunting of deer inside city limits.

Crutcher says an increasing number of deer have caused at least 25 car accidents in Branson in the past year.

The chief supports a plan to allow the hunting during bow and arrow season.

Hunters would be required to have the appropriate permits and safety training.

The city’s board of alderman will hear the proposal Aug. 28.

The plan is similar to hunts allowed in recent years in other Missouri cities, including Springfield.
