A crash at the Missouri State Fair Pepsi Grandstand in Sedalia injured at least five people, and at least three were hospitalized.

The crash happened during the “Battle of the Badges” fundraiser for Special Olympics. A race car made from an old police car crashed through the guardrail into the infield just after 9 p.m. Sunday.

At least one of the victims was transported to the hospital. Injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, but officials have not specified the extent of the injuries.

The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating.
