Governor Nixon Bags The Limit

Joining thousands of fellow sportsmen across Missouri, Gov. Jay Nixon bagged the state limit of 15 doves per hunter on the opening morning of dove season.

Joined by Dave Murphy, executive director of the Conservation Federation of Missouri, and other avid sportsmen, Gov. Nixon hunted on private property in Pike County, Mo.

“Whether it’s hunting for doves, deer or turkey, or fishing on one of our beautiful lakes or streams, enjoying the outdoors is a part of our Missouri legacy,” Gov. Nixon said.

“Hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities are wonderful traditions passed down from generation to generation in Missouri. That is only possible because of the tireless efforts of groups like the Conservation Federation and the support of dedicated Missourians who ensure that we continue to preserve and protect our priceless natural resources.”
