Man Charged In Death Of MODOT Motorist Assist Operator

A 35-year-old Blue Springs man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of a MoDOT Motorist Assist Operator on I-70 last week.

David C. Murdick, suffered serious injuries when his vehicle careened into the MoDOT truck.

Murdick was charged Friday with first-degree involuntary manslaughter.

Clifton Scott  was shutting down the ramp with cones and flashing lights when he and his truck were hit.

According to court documents, Murdick’s blood-alcohol level tested at 0.184 percent at a hospital after the crash.

Bond was set at $75 thousand cash only.
