Post-It Note Art Auction Highlights First “First Saturday” Event At Lucky Tiger

Amy Heath grew up in Hoboken, New Jersey. The co-owner of the Lucky Tiger boutique in downtown St Joseph says it broke her heart to see her friends on TV amid the chaos and destruction left behind by Hurricane Sandy.

Lucky Tiger is holding a fund raiser today in hopes of raising money for the American Red Cross.

The boutique, at 718 Francis, is the site of the first of what Heath hopes to be a continuing string of “First Saturday” celebrations. She hopes the tradition takes hold and spreads to other businesses downtown. The party continues until 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Lucky Tiger is offering free food, free drinks, and free music all day. They’re also staging a silent auction of art works created on post-it notes and napkins. The gallery already includes some interesting work, including one called “Jolly Green Jemima,” and some very intriguing owls.
