Western’s Partridge named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

Missouri Western junior quarterback Travis Partridge has been named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last week in the Griffons 21-20 comback victory over the #4 NW Missouri State Bearcats. This marks the first time in his career that he earned this honor. The victory gave the Griffons their first ever outright MIAA Title and gave them 10 victories for the first time in school history.

Partridge led the Griffons to a second half comeback against Northwest Missouri to win their first ever MIAA outright title. He threw for two touchdowns and ran for one with a minute to play to give MWSU the 21-20 victory. Partridge completed 19 of 26 passes for 207 yards which included connecting for seven of eight passes for 104 yards in the fourth quarter. He also rushed the ball 10 times for 25 yards and the game winner. Partridge has thrown for 25 touchdowns this season and rushed for 11 on the year. The 6-4 junior quarterback is a native of St. Joseph, Mo. and competed at Savannah High School.

The Griffons earned the #3 seed in the region and will host the #6 seed Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs on Saturday, November 17th in the first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs. Kickoff is set for 12:00 pm in Spratt Stadium.
