Bridal Scams Land Wedding Photographer In Jail

Attorney General Koster has filed criminal charges against a Kansas City wedding photographer, accusing him of scamming brides by charging them in advance and then failing to deliver promised services.

Mario Antoine faces ten felony counts of stealing by deceit and unlawful merchandising practices related to his involvement in a wedding photography scam.

According to Koster, Antoine and his company, Imagine Photo KC, took thousands of dollars from Kansas City area brides in advance to photograph their weddings and provide other wedding related services, such as limousines and DJs. However, on the day of their weddings, Antoine either failed to appear entirely or did not provide all promised services. When many of the brides sought out Antoine for refunds, he refused to provide them.

Antoine has been arrested by the Kansas City Police Department and is being held on a $25,000 bond. He faces up to seven years in prison and $20,000 fine for each of the four stealing by deceit counts and up to four years in prison and $20,000 fine for each of the six unlawful merchandising practices counts.
