A St Joseph woman was arraigned Friday on charges she neglected her ailing infant daughter last October, leading to the young girl’s death.
Four-year-old Amber Mosier was bedridden with cerebral palsy, and died from complications with her feeding machine.
Alexandra Schurr is due back in court next month after pleading not guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter.
The St Joseph Police Department Family Crimes Unit said Schurr had not checked on the child for more than eight hours, from 9am until just before 5:30 pm on October 10, 2012.
The autopsy report indicated the child died as a result of airway obstruction caused by gastrically delivered feeding material.
