Saint Joseph arts supporters say it’s not too late to join Wednesday’s statewide lobbying effort in Jefferson City. Teresa Fankhauser of the Allied Arts Council wants 300 people show up at the capitol to talk about the importance of the arts in quality of life and economic development.
They hope to convince lawmakers to restore funding for the Missouri Arts Council to the level required by state law: 60 percent of the money collected by the Athletes and Entertainers tax. Grants from the Missouri Arts Council help support nine arts organizations in Saint Joseph. For more information go to mo4arts.org.
