The Red Cross is looking for local disaster volunteers. The Midland Empire Chapter has scheduled a day long training session for new volunteers Tuesday, February 19, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

An Overview will be held in the morning followed by a Shelter Operations Workshop in the afternoon.

The courses will provide an overview of disaster services as well as focus on feeding and sheltering the public after a disaster incident.

Officials say the courses will prepare someone to respond locally or nationally. They are free of charge.
