A St Joseph woman has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the death of her ailing infant daughter last October.
Alexandra Schurr, 22, pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter in the first degree.
The St Joseph Police Department Family Crimes Unit said Schurr left her daughter unattended for more than eight hours on October 10, 2012.
Four-year-old Amber Mosier, who suffered from cerebral palsy, died from complications with her feeding machine. An autopsy report indicated the child died as a result of airway obstruction caused by gastrically delivered feeding material.
Judge Daniel Kellogg ordered a sentence assessment report and scheduled sentencing for April 2 at 11am.
