1921-2013

Evelyn Sims, 92, Mound City, Missouri died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Tiffany Heights Care Center in Mound City, Missouri.
Evelyn was born March 4, 1921 in Mound City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Albert A. and Rosa Duncan Oyerly.
She graduated from Mound City High School and attended college in St. Joseph and Maryville, Missouri.
December 25, 1941 she married Charles E. Vest of Mound City. To this union two children were born and are still living. They are Charles R. Vest (Jacquie) Ada, Oklahoma, and Vivian R. Herndon, Omaha, Nebraska. Charles E. Vest passed away October 24, 1984.
On May 31, 1986, Evelyn married Roy Sims Jr. Roy was Publisher and Editor of The Mound City News-Independent newspaper in Mound City. Roy passed away April 21, 2011.
Preceding Evelyn in death were her parents; sisters, Clara Oyerly and Helen Davis; brothers, James William and Charles A. Oyerly.
Survivors: sister, Thelma V. Bowen, Fort Myers, Florida; step-children, Roiann Sims Huber (Dennis) Lees Summit, Missouri, Larry Sims (Bonnie) Screven, Georgia, Nannette Sims Panning (Paul)Mound City, Missouri; grandchildren, Gloria Vest Kucera (Rodney) Enid, Oklahoma, Charles E. Vest (Lisa) Ada, Oklahoma, Logan Vest (Becky) Enid, Oklahoma, Travis Panning, Fortescue, Missouri, Chad Panning, Oregon, Missouri, Nicholas Panning (Margo) Offerman, Georgia, Kenny Panning, Mound City, Missouri, Wesley Huber, Lees Summit, Missouri, Samantha Huber, Lees Summit, Missouri, Michele Sims Mullis (Josh) Screven, Georgia, Melissa Sims and Andrew Sims, Screven, Georgia, and six great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was a member of the First Christian Church and Chapter HP P.E.O. Sisterhood of Mound City, Missouri.
Graveside Services and Inurnment: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, Mount Hope Cemetery. Pastor Paul Grant officiating. Thomas G. Henderson,75, Maryville, Missouri died Friday, March 29, 2013, at his rural Maryville, Missouri residence.

Born February 22, 1938 in Aberdeen, Idaho, Tom was the son of Clyde Clay and Dorothy May (Jarmin) Henderson. Tom married Marjorie Ann (Carr) Carroll January 10, 2008 in Princeton, Missouri.

An 11:00 AM memorial service Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville.
