Northwest golfers finish 4th at Henderson State Invite

riggertNorthwestAfter making up six strokes Tuesday the Northwest Missouri State golfers finished fourth at the Henderson State First Federal Bank Invitational placing three individuals in the top 20.

With improving weather for Tuesday’s second round the Bearcats and the rest of the field saw scores fall. Northwest fired a 650 to finish behind third place Drury (647).

Arkansas Tech held off Southwestern Oklahoma by one stroke to claim the title after a two-day total of 638.

Cassie Lowell rallied to finish tied for 12th after a second round 78 (161) as Steph Charteris fired an 80 for a two day score of 161 as well.

Kristina D’Angela checked in at 18th with a 163 (80-83) while Taylor Gard rounded out the scoring with a 165.

Northwest returns to action next weekend as they host the second round of the Green & Gold Invitational. Sunday’s first round will tee off in St. Joseph at the St. Joseph Country Club with Monday’s final round taking place at Mozingo Lake Golf Course.
