Missouri Western’s Wes Apple has been named the MIAA Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week for his performance last week in the MWSU/USF Dual.

Apple won the MWSU/USF Dual match on Saturday, April 6 with a low round 68 at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo. He won the event by seven strokes and helped his team shoot a 299 which was 15 strokes better than the University of Sioux Falls.

The 5-10 junior is native of St. Charles, Ill. where he attended St. Charles East High School and played at Iowa Western Community College prior to becoming a Griffon.

The team returns to action April 15-16 at the Missouri Southern Classic in Joplin.
