Diana Lynn Carter, 62, St. Joseph, Missouri died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1950 to Frank and Maybelle (Sybert) Horn in St. Joseph, Missouri. Diana married Douglas Eugene Carter on September 18, 1993. He survives of the home. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, fishing and mushroom hunting. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her father. Survivors: husband; sons, Steven Campbell, and Mike Carter; daughter, Megan Carter-Hulett (Tim;) mother, Maybelle Horn; grandchildren, Dalton and Kady Campbell, Tristan and Kealey Hulett, and Liz Avila; brother, Bill Horn; and sister, Margie Clark. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Forrest Donald Wray, 91, Parnell, Missouri, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at
Missouri Veterans Home, Cameron, Missouri.
Forrest was born May 10, 1921, at Parnell, Missouri to Victor Hubert and
Susie (Scowden) Wray. He married Lila D. Knutson on December 24, 1942 in
Maryville, Missouri.
A 1939 graduate of Harmony High School , Forrest was a farmer and was a
member of the Curry Richardson Sparks Waldeier American Legion Post #528,
Parnell, and the 384th Bomb Group. In 1970, Forrest received the Balanced
Farming Award in recognition of his soil conservation practices. He served
on the Northeast Nodway School Board, the Farmers Home Administration Board,
the ASC Board, and the Orrsburg Telephone Board.
He served his country from 1942-1945 in the United States Army Air Force
during World War II. Campaigns were at Normandy and with the Air Offensive
in Europe with the 384th Bomb Group.
Preceding Forrest in death were his parents, four brothers Orville, Elvin,
Lloyd, and Marvin, and two sisters Beulah Swink and Audrey Ditamore.
Survivors include his wife Lila of their home, sons Vernis (Elaine) Wray,
Fort White, FL, Keith (Karen) Wray, Parnell, MO, Garvin (Jennifer) Wray,
Holiday, FL, daughters Pamela (Larry) Baumli, Skidmore, MO, Sheila (Greg)
Paxton, Maryville, MO, brother Donnis (Maxine) Wray, and sister in law
Charlene Wray, Parnell, MO, fifteen grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren,
several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM Sunday, April 14, at the Price Funeral
Home, Maryville.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Monday, April 15 at Price Funeral Home,
Maryville, with burial following in Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville.
A graveside military service will be conducted by the Curry Richardson,
Sparks Waldeier American Legion Post #528, Parnell.
