Nearly 900 Buchanan County homeowners have signed up to pay real estate taxes on the installment plan. Presiding Commissioner RT Turner says there’s not a good time to pay taxes, ever, but spreading the annual tax bill over ten monthly payments will be easier than coming up with one big payment at the end of the year.

Turner says the county offers the program as a customer service after years of requests. Another signup period will open next January.
