Traffic Stop Leads To 13 Pound Cocaine Bust On I-29


Platte County Sheriff’s deputies seized more than 13 pounds of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop this week.

In a news release, Captain Erik Holland said the moving van was stopped for traffic violations on I-29 at I-435 at approximately 9:45 pm on Tuesday, April 16.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle the suspected cocaine was located in the rear of the truck in duffle bags. The estimate value of the suspected cocaine is at least $595,000.

Marcos V. Gonzalez, a 36 year old Hispanic male and Lorena Bustos, a 38 year old Hispanic female, both from California, are being held under $500 thousand bond.

Each is charged with drug trafficking, a class A felony.
