A southeast Kansas man was sentenced to life without parole for 25 years under Jessica’s Law, after being convicted for multiple child sex crimes.

Elk County District Judge Michael Ward ordered the sentence Monday for James William VanRoyen,of Howard, Kansas.

 

 

In November 2012 a jury convicted VanRoyen, 27, on nine counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, one count of aggravated criminal sodomy, one count of criminal sodomy, one count of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, one count of indecent solicitation of a child and three counts of sexual battery.

The crimes were committed between November 2006 and November 2011 against three victims.
