The Midland Empire Chapter of the American Red Cross is hoping to train a few new disaster volunteers in the wake of the devastation caused by severe weather over the last few days in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.
The Chapter will host training for entry level disaster positions on Thursday, May 23, from 9 am to 4 pm. The training is free. Preregistration is required.
This training will not guarantee someone a deployment. It is the first step required to becoming a disaster volunteer. Volunteers for deployment must also successfully complete a background check, be in good health, and be available for a 14 day deployment.
To register for the class, please call 816-232-8439.
