St. Joseph drops second straight as they lose 2-1 at Omaha

riggertMustangsThe St. Joseph Mustangs suffered their second consecutive loss as they fell on the road at Omaha Tuesday night, 2-1.

St. Joe’s summer college baseball team is now 3-3 this season and 2-3 in the MINK League.

The Mustangs offense struggled as the only run they scored came in the second inning when Shane Segovia scored on a wild pitch.

St. Joseph had only seven hits, all singles, and left ten runners on base. No Mustang had more than one hit in the game.

St. Joe starter Redmond Floyd suffered the loss as he went six innings and allowed just two hits and two runs.  Floyd struck out eight batters, but he also walked seven.

Jarrod Miller and Blake Kolons threw well out of the bullpen as they combined for two scoreless innings and allowed just one hit.

The Mustangs close out their five-game road trip Wednesday night as they play at Clarinda.  The first pitch is at 7:00 p.m.
