A motorcyclist from Maysville suffered moderate injuries after encountering a deer on a Dekalb County highway Saturday night.

State troopers say 48-year-old Paul Rannabargar either hit the deer or swerved to avoid it along Missouri Highway Six east of Maysville at 9:18 p.m. Saturday.

Rannabargar laid down his Honda and slide along the pavement. He was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center.
