A Plattsburg couple suffered moderate injuries after a two-car crash Saturday night in Clinton County.

Traffic investigators say John Huffman, 51, of Plattsburg lost control of his Saturn Ion along Route U southeast of Gower just before 8pm Saturday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the Saturn crossed the center line and his a Chevy Trailblazer head on.

The driver of the Trailblazer, Rhonda Perks of Gower, was not hurt, but her vehicle sustained extensive damage. The Saturn was totalled.

John and Kathleen Huffman, 49, suffered moderate injuries, and were transported by ambulance to Heartland.

Sergeant Sheldon Lyon of Troop H now says John Huffman was arrested for felony assault, DWI and careless & imprudent driving.
