A traffic accident in Holt County Thursday sent a three-year-old girl to the hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the toddler escaped with minor injuries.

According to a crash report, a vehicle driven by Kayla Fritz of Falls City, Nebraska was southbound on US-159 about eight miles south of Mound City. At 1:23 pm, another motorist failed to yield the right of way as it entered the highway from a private drive.

Fritz’es vehicle hit the second car in the left rear, and that second vehicle left the roadway and came to rest down an embankment.

The youngster was passenger in Fritz’es Nissan. She was identified as Audray Martinez, 3, of Joplin, Missouri. Investigators say she was taken by private vehicle to Community Medical Center, in Falls City.
