Demolition is underway as HyVee prepares to open a gas station, car wash and convenience store on The Belt just south of Faraon.

Store Director Brad McAnally says they don’t have a timetable yet as to when they’ll open the new facility, but he expects to be open for business sometime this year.

McAnally says they are still waiting on some permits from the city before they can finalize their plans. The demolition of the old Hollywood Video Store is nearly complete. That will be followed by the destruction of the Sprint store.
