Gas prices are now going up, even as oil prices head back down.
In St Joseph, several stations have raised their prices another dime to $3.49 per gallon, after a 20-cent rise last week. AAA reports the average price across St Joseph is $3.415 per gallon, compared to $3.322 last week.
The average to fill your vehicle (15 Gallon Tank) in St Joseph is now $51.22. Last week it was $49.82. Last month it was $52.22 and six months ago that average fill-up price was $43.52.
Monday’s average price across Missouri is now $3.473, up six tenths of a cent over Sunday, and near 24 cents higher than a week ago.
The average pump price across Kansas is now $3.535, up a penny on the day and about 17 cents higher than a week ago.
AAA reported a national average of $3.613, up about fourteen cents over a week ago.
Oil prices appear to be heading back down after reaching 14-month highs last week. In early Monday trading, Nymex benchmark crude contracts were down another 83 cents per barrel. But prices were still over $105 per barrel. (Note: by the end of the day Monday, oil prices closed slightly higher)
