A 92-year-old Tarkio woman was seriously hurt in a crash near Rock Port Tuesday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Elsie Rhoades was driving along US-136 highway at 3:18 pm Tuesday when she lost control of her Toyota.

Rhoades swerved to avoid a car in oncoming traffic but skidded off the roadway, down an embankment and into a ditch.

She was transported to University Medical Center in Omaha where she was listed in serious condition Wednesday morning.
