Vernelle Hoover
1924-2013

Ruth Vernelle Hoover, 89, of Rea, Missouri, passed away, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Heartland Hospital, St. Joseph, Missouri.

Except for a short time in Oklahoma and Montana, she lived in Andrew and Buchanan counties her entire life. She attended Rosendale High School and Gard Business School, St. Joseph. She was a member of Rea Union Church where she was pianist for many years.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Hobert H. Hoover, parents, Claude and Alice Kent and a brother and sister-in-law, Caryl and Ruby Kent.

Survivors include nieces, Carolyn Taylor, Sue Meadows and Linda Slayden, several cousins in Missouri and Oklahoma.

Graveside Services 10:00 AM Saturday at Bennett Lane Cemetery under the direction of HeatonBowman-Smith Savannah Chapel.

Visitation will begin after 12:00 Noon Friday at our Savannah Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday evening.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rea Union Church or to Hands of Hope Hospice.
