St Joseph Police have arrested a man for vandalism after he was caught tossing paint into the controlled parking lot at the Law Enforcement Center.

Sergeant Todd Derr says an officer driving in the area spotted the suspect just outside the parking lot along Sixth Street between Robidoux and Faraon at around 1:30am Saturday.

The white, male suspect fled on foot, but was soon caught by the officer.

Sergeant Derr says there was some paint thrown on two police vehicles, and on the adjacent wall and fence. The vehicles were quickly cleaned up with no damage, but the wall and fence took a little longer, Derr said.
