A 14-year-old Iowa girl escaped with minor injuries after the vehicle she was riding in hit a deer near Mound City early Sunday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says D-Aycia D Brown of Sioux City, Iowa was taken by ambulance to Fairfax Community Hospital after the crash on I-29 four miles south of Mound City.

The driver, Gina Spanton, 27, of Piedmont, South Dakota, was not hurt.
