Charlotte L. Raines
1935-2013

Charlotte L. Raines, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born March 14, 1935 to Claude and Suzanne (Prevot) Lynch.

She married Lawrence Eugene Raines Sr. on April 16, 1954. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1990.
Charlotte retired from Sherwood Medical after 20 years. She later worked as a security guard at KCI airport and then as a greeter at the North Belt Wal-Mart.

She was a lifetime member at First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed painting and was an accomplished artist, having her work on exhibit at Albrecht-Kemper Museum. She also gave her time back to the community by helping out in grief support groups, Koinonia Sunday School and the Altar Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Survivors: son; Larry Raines Jr., (Karen); daughters, Nancy Nylen and Carla Lattin (Rick); brothers, Robert Lynch (Frances) and Claude Lynch Jr. (Phyllis); sisters; Delores Simpson (Mike) and Janice Jeannoutot (Don); seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Emily, Aaron, Tiffany, DL, Josh, and Amber; several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: 1:00 P.M. Friday, First Lutheran Church, St. Joseph, Missouri. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Thursday. Mrs. Raines will be removed from Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory to arrive at the church one hour prior to the service.
