Barbara Mae Miller

Barbara Mae (Gaines) Miller, 83, formerly of Maryville, Missouri, died Monday, September 2, 2013, at St. Luke’s East, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Barbara was born July 26, 1930, in Maryville to Willard Monroe and Mabel Mae (Craig) Gaines.

She married Dale Miller on May 26, 1949, in Maryville, Missouri. He preceded Barbara in death on February 16, 2006.

A graduate of Junction City, Kansas High School, she also attended Northwest Missouri State University . Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church and Christian Women’s Fellowship, Maryville.

She also had been a member of the Nodaway County University of Missouri Extention Young Economists.

Preceding her in death were her husband and parents.

Survivors include five children: Nancy (Charles Petersen) Miller, Raymore, Missouri, Robert (Teresa) Miller, Meadville, Missouri, Sarah (David) Campbell, Lee’s Summit, Catherine Palmer, Maryville, Michele (Curtis) Sharp, Lee’s Summit; grandchildren Chris (Laura) Campbell, Andrea (Tim) McPherson, Melanie (Shea) Hunt, Tracy (Steve) Meunier, Trisha Campbell, Adam Palmer, Madison and Kaitlyn Pruitt; great grandchildren, Aaron and Brayden McPherson, Carynn Campbell, Landon and Jamison Hunt, Mason Allen and Abigail Meunier.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Friday, September 6, 2013 at First Christian Church, Maryville, where visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11AM. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville.
