There were no injuries but a big scare after a crash involving a school bus Wednesday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says there were 12 kids on board as the bus was taking on more passengers at a bus stop at east of Baxter Springs shortly after 8am Wednesday.
Troopers say the bus driver had amber flashing lights on for a quarter mile before stopping at 7622 SE Hwy 166.
Upon stopping, the red lights on the back of the bus were on, and the stop sign was out.
A 17-year-old driver, Ethan Scibor of Baxter Springs, told investigators he did not see the warning lights on the bus because of the sun.
Scibor says he slammed on his brakes but still hit the bus.
There were 12 passengers on the bus at the time of the accident. No one was injured.
