L. Leroy Salmon, 67, St. Joseph, Missouri died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at a local healthcare facility.
He was born November 29, 1945 to William and Mildred (Terry) Salmon.

Mr. Salmon served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force for twenty-seven years as a Senior Master Sergeant, eighteen years with CB&Q, and later Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, serving many positions from yard clerk to regional manager.

He was involved in many Masonic organizations and bodies. In the Blue Lodge Bodies he was a member of Zeredatha Lodge #189, A.F. & A.M., where he served as Worshipful Master, Charity Zeredatha Lodge #189, A.F. & A.M. since 2007, where he served as secretary, Cosby Lodge #600, A.F. & A.M., where he served as Past Worshipful Master in 2009 and 2010, Brotherhood Lodge #269, A.F. & A.M., Missouri Lodge of Research, where he served as Senior Deacon, and Grand Lodge of Missouri, where he served as District Deputy Grand Master from 2011-2012.

In the High-Twelve organization he was a member of the High Twelve Club #49, where he served as President and the Missouri High Twelve Association, where he served as First Vice President.

In the Scottish Rite bodies he was a member of the St. Joseph Valley as a Scottish Rite Mason, Past Wise master of Rose Croix, Venerable Master of Lodge of Perfection, and Children Learning Disability Clinic as a Past Chairman. Mr. Salmon received his thirty-third degrees honor in 2009.

In the York Rite Bodies he was a member of the Grand Standard Bearer as a Grand Commandery of Missouri from 2012-2013, Mitchell Chapter #14, Royal Arch Masons as Past Excellent High Priest, St. Joseph Council #9, Past Member of Royal and Select Masters, Hugh DePayne Commandery #4, Past Commander of Knights Templar, Allied Masonic Degrees, a Sovereign Master in the Pony Express Council #350, a Viceroy with the St. Joseph Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, Missouri College of Societas Rosicruciana, Edwin C. Carpenter York Rite College #181 as Governor, Order of the Purple Cross in 2011, Charlemagne Council #79 as a Knights Mason, Immanuel Chapel #56, St. Thomas of Acon, Order of High Priests, Order of Silver Trowel, Past Commenters Association, Knights York Cross of Honor, and Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests.

Other Masonic Bodies he was involved in include, Moila Shrine, Demolay Legion of Honor as a Past Dean, Royal Order of Scotland, Kansas City Chapter #63 as National Sojourners, and MO Chip Team as the Regional Coordinator.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors: son, Steve Salmon, St. Joseph, Missouri; daughter, Robin Hayter, and her husband Brian, Maysville, Missouri; daughter, Sandy Roman, and her companion Erik Watson, St. Joseph, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brittany, Darian, Logan and Alex; two sisters, Betty Thompson, Canton, Texas, and Linda Arnold, Gallatin, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 1:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Masonic Services at the chapel under the auspices of the Grand Lodge of Missouri. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
