Governor Jay Nixon appointed a Savannah man to the Andrew County Eastern District Commissioner’s seat.

Nixon announced the appointment Wednesday of Gregory Wall.

Wall takes the place of John Rotterman, who died in a truck fire July 15th while traveling along US 169 Highway.

Wall had served as the Eastern District Commissioner from 2001 to 2012. He is a farmer and rural postal carrier and serves as the Emergency Management Chairman for Andrew County.

“Gregory Wall has ably served the people of Andrew County for several years in many different ways,” Gov. Nixon said. “ I also want to thank the family of John Rotterman for his dedicated service to the citizens of this county before his untimely passing.”

Among other appointments Wednesday, the governor also appointed Vicki Corwin of Gallatin as the new Daviess County Clerk. The position became vacant upon the resignation of former Clerk Linda Steward.
