The investigation continues after a body was found near Waldron along the Missouri River.

A fisherman notified the Platte County Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning.

Authorities say the fisherman spotted the body along the shoreline, but due to the rough terrain along the river it took some time to get to the location of the body.

The area where the body was found is in the unincorporated area of Platte County, near the township of Waldron, Missouri. The only known information about the body at this time is that it is a male. The cause of death or how the body ended up where it did is unknown.

The Platte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death.
