A 39-year-old Union Star man was in serious condition at Heartland Regional Medical Center after a crash in Dekalb County Monday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol report indicates that Mario Rodriguez-Garcia ran a  stop sign along Route-6 west of Maysville at 8:41 pm Monday.

His Honda crashed into a Ford pickup driven by 16-year-old Ryan Carrel of Clarksdale.

Both vehicles overturned off the south side of the roadway.  Both vehicles were destroyed.

Rodriguez-Garcia was transported to Heartland where he was listed in serious condition Tuesday.  Carrel was treated for minor injuries at Heartland and has been released.
