Manhunt underway for shooting suspect UPDATE Friday p.m.

5 p.m. Friday Update   Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies continue to search a man accused of killing two people and seriously wounding a third.

6 a.m. Friday Update.  Authorities have located the abandoned vehicle taken from the crime scene, as the search continues for Kevin Welsh.

6 p.m. Thursday (AP) — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has joined the search for a 35-year-old man suspected of killing two people and wounding a third in Walshthe southeastern part of the state.

The Greenwood County sheriff’s office has identified those killed in Wednesday night’s shootings as a 54-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman. A 26-year-old woman who was also shot was in stable condition Thursday at a Wichita hospital.

The shootings took place at a home in Eureka, about 60 miles east of Wichita.

Authorities say the suspect, Kevin R. Welsh, left in a Ford Explorer belonging to one of the victims. The vehicle was found abandoned Thursday in eastern Greenwood County.

Welsh is from the Woodson County town of Toronto, where officers searched a home Thursday without finding him.

 

 

Law enforcement officials across the region are watching for a suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death of two people and wounding of another \
on Wednesday night in Greenwood County Kansas.

Thirty-five year old Kevin Welsh is described at 6’ tall and 185 pounds. He is reportedly driving one of the victim’s 2007 Gold Ford Explorer Screen Shot 2013-10-03 at 7.28.50 AMwith Kansas license plate 20AXY.  Welsh is considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you know where he is or have seen him.
