Thirty-year-old Angelia Hanson entered the plea Monday in the July death of 43-year-old Jody Lane. Hanson told the judge she didn’t realize Lane was standing behind the vehicle when she backed out of the driveway at their home during an argument. She says she then drove forward before realizing she hit Lane.

Prosecutors said Lane was trapped in the vehicle’s undercarriage and suffered fatal internal bleeding.

Under a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped plans to charge Hanson as a prior and persistent offender. She faces up to seven years in jail. Sentencing was set for Nov. 18.
