District Schedules Public Outreach For School Improvement

Fred CzerwonkaThe St Joseph School District will conduct two events to hear from the community on ways to continue improving schools here. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Fred Czerwonka announced the two events Wednesday.

When he was hired, Dr. Czerwonka told the Board of Education that he would provide them with a forward-looking report concerning the school district. With that in mind, he has met with many community members individually and now plans to reach out more broadly.

The Superintendent intends to present the plan to the Board of Education and the community in November.

The first event is a “Town Hall” set for 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Troester Media Center, 3401 Renick St. Dr. Czerwonka will open the one-hour meeting and then take input from the community.

The second event will be a “TeleTown Hall” set for 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17. Several thousand patrons will be contacted over the phone and given an opportunity to voice their concerns, questions and ideas directly to Dr. Czerwonka.

“As the administration and I work to improve our schools, it is vitally important that we hear ideas for improvement, as well as concerns and questions, from the community,” said Dr. Czerwonka.
