Triple-A Missouri says gas prices that dropped 45 cent in the past month could head back up again. Analyst Mike Right says there are a lot of wild cards out there, starting with instability in the Middle East. But he says there are also signs of stability: abundant supplies, low crude oil prices, weak demand for gasoline, and steady production of oil from Canada and North Dakota.
Right says Saint Louis has Missouri’s lowest gas prices right now, but Saint Joseph is only two or three cents behind. Gas prices in Saint Joseph range from 2.94 to 2.99 a gallon.
