Former Major Leaguer Dave Dravecky, who threw the pitch “heard round the world,” will deliver the keynote address Thursday night at the annual Faith Promise dinner at Saint Joseph Christian School. Dravecky’s throwing arm, weakened by cancer, snapped as he pitched for the San Francisco Giants against the Montreal Expos in August of 1989.
The former All-Star will share his story of hope, courage, and perseverance. The Faith Promise dinner helps Saint Joseph Christian School close the gap between tuition and the costs of schooling. The dinner is set for 6:30 Thursday evening at the Missouri Western State University Fulkerson Center. Tickets are available here.
