A St Joseph woman was seriously injured in a traffic accident this morning in south St Joseph.

Police Commander Janice Rothganger says they were alerted to the crash at 9:10am. The accident happened at South Fourth Street and 759-highway, at the I-229N on-ramp.

Traffic in the area was still blocked until about 2pm, as investigators continued to take measurements and gather other information into the cause of the crash. The roadway has been reopened.

Angela Crockett,  56, was seriously hurt, with potentially life-threatening injuries. She is being treated at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

The other driver, Brett Devling of Savannah, was not treated for injuries.
