(AP) — Law enforcement officers surrounded an abandoned laundry in a small southeast Kansas town after receiving a report that a

double-murder suspect had been seen in town.
Authorities closed roads and evacuated some homes near the business Monday evening in the Greenwood County community of Eureka. Neighbors reportedly heard officers calling the name of Kevin Welsh during the standoff. About 10 p.m., law officers left and authorities did not provide any details surrounding the incident.
Law enforcement has been searching for Welsh since Oct. 2, when 52-year-old Sheila Kriesel and 54-year-old Keith Kriesel were shot to death and 26-year-old Catherine Scheff was wounded in Eureka.
The Kansas Attorney General’s Office is expected to release more details about Monday’s standoff later Tuesday.
