The Region H Hazmat Team will conduct what it’s calling a “full scale” winter-related hazardous materials exercise Thursday. The exercise will involve nearly all the 15 counties in Northwest Missouri.

Buchanan County Emergency Management Director Bill Brinton says the Saint Joseph Police and Fire Departments will conduct a hazmat simulation at the Port Authority. Brinton, the Region H Hazmat Team, and the Missouri Air National Guard Fire Department will simulate a hazmat incident at Rosecrans Memorial Airport. The Multi-Agency Coordination Center will be located at the emergency operation center in Tarkio.

The exercise will start at 8:30 Thursday morning.
