Raymond Forrest Morrison

Morrison, RaymondRaymond Forrest Morrison, 95, Hopkins, Missouri, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Village Care Center, Maryville, Missouri.

Born January 10, 1918, in Burlington Junction, Missouri to Everet Harvey and Alma E. (Wiseman) Morrison, Raymond attended Hopkins School.

Raymond was a truck driver and farmer. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II June, 1944 to November, 1945.

He married Ruth Maxine Coleman on December 23, 1937, in Maryville.

Raymond was a member of the First Christian Church, Hopkins, the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100 and the Elks Lodge, both of Maryville.

Preceding in death were his parents and wife Max (June 18, 2002) , step-son Ronald Coleman (March 3, 1991) and sister Lois Coleman (January 9, 2006).

Survivors include his sons: Leroy (Helen) Morrison, Maryville, Bill (Carol) Morrison, Loudon, Tennessee, Jim (Linda) Morrison, Maryville, and Kelly Morrison, Hopkins, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Mary Coleman, Savannah.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, at the Wray Memorial United Methodist Church, Hopkins with burial following in the Hopkins Cemetery.

A graveside Military Service will be conducted by the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, Maryville.

A family visitation will be held at the Hopkins Community Building following the service and burial. Anyone who would like to come by and share memories with the family is welcome.

Memorials may be made to SSM Hospice and Home Care, Maryville, in Raymond’s name.
