A St Joe man accused of breaking into a fire station and helping himself to the fire crew’s spaghetti dinner faces arraignment next month after he waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday.

Stephen Stokes is charged with 2nd degree burglary.

He is accused of climbing a fire escape ladder into the fire station at 401 South Seventh and eating the firefighters’ spaghetti dinner.

Most of the firefighters at the station were out on an emergency call the night of October 21, but two remained behind and allegedly caught Stokes in the act.

Stokes is also facing a separate charge of DWI. Circuit Judge Patrick Robb is scheduled to arraign Stokes on both charges November 25.
