A ten-year-old Stanberry girl suffered minor injuries in a traffic mishap Friday. The SUV she was riding in hit a semi making a wide right turn on a Gentry County highway.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash four miles north of King City on US-169 at 3:50pm Friday. Investigators say Darwin Stark of King City was southbound on the highway and moved his 1994 Peterbilt into the northbound lanes to make a wide right turn.
A Chevy Suburban driven by Amanda Phipps of Stanberry continued southbound and was hit by the tractor. The suburban continued off the highway and into a field. The Peterbilt struck a ditch and came to rest off the west side of the roadway.
Phipps’ ten-year-old daughter was a passenger in the Suburban. She was taken by private vehicle to receive medical attention for what were described at the scene as minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
