Missouri man sentenced in teen’s stabbing death

JailAP) – A southwest Missouri man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the stabbing death of a 17-year-old in Republic

Twenty-nine-year-old Christopher Jorgensen of Ava pleaded guilty in June to second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Kenny Stout. He was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years on each charge, to be served concurrently.

Prosecutors say Jorgensen and another man beat Stout with metal baseball bats before he was stabbed to death six hours later in December 2011.

A second suspect, 26-year-old Nathan Jensen, of Seymour, is charged with first-degree murder in Stout’s death.

The motive for the killing remains unclear.
